Its a very gud news. Infact, One of my friend also got his GC though his PD was not current then. It happened around 3 months back, he received physical cards in hand where as his PD was Nov 2005. Perhaps its happening.

Doesn't it sound rude... they celebrate, feast and we fast. If we admire this country for giving us so much we should also show our support and adopt the culture and celebrate with them to show we are tax paying Americans who enjoy in American way.
We can show our protest by sending 1-wish for our own GC ( may be in the form of Christmas tree ornament) to all law makers. Everybody makes a wish and our wish is GC.

Dear friends,
Let us not fight -EB2 Vs EB3. I hope people (EB 2) are honest and do not try to cross the line. This is cheating. It is a Sin. Every one has to answer God .
I sincerely request IV to make efforts to push for Schedule A which will benefit all and not to support only EB2. It is everyone contributing irrespective of EB2 or EB 3 for lobbying for schedule A.

Hello,
I have been going through this discussion. I am in a similar situation where I got a Welcome Notice saying my I-485 was approved and I should be receiving my card in 3 weeks when my PD is not current and in fact, the PD is a couple of years behind! It has been 6 months since I got the notice and no GC is in sight. After calling the customer service in March, they told me that they did not have my biometrics in their system and so I had to go for a biometrics appointment early April. It is almost 3 months since then and I still have no GC card. I know that there is a delay in card production, but at the same time, I am wondering if the I-485 approval was by mistake and that is causing the real problem. I am in talks with a lawyer who suggests it is better to correct the USCIS mistake right now rather than getting into complications in the long run. I am frustrated that I have to pay for an attorney for a mistake USCIS did and concerned what will happen in future when I proceed with their advice.
Could one of you who faced this situation descibe how you handled the situation or how you would handle this situation? In my case, there is no other I-485 or anything filed before and I have never been out of status or had any issue ever.

Congratulations to all IV members for being able to apply for I-485. This is GREAT news. Please please apply for your I-485 at the earliest. It would be best if your application reaches USCIS in the week of 2nd July. Here is the link to July Visa Bulletin:

True if one want to die for Citizenship , But job market is not as great as here. One needs to be really lucky to be there and I also agree that its lot easier in life once you have a stable job. I have some friends who are well settled and enjoying a cool life. WHere as some are still looking for one and many moved back to US or Gulf once they got citizenship so it all depends... But Certain Citizenship of Canada is easiest compared to that of US and well respected too compared to US.

I think a change of leadership of IV is critical if we have to get anywhere. IV has not been able to achieve a single thing in all of its existence. Not a single thing, nada, zitto, zapata. Not disclosing the issues they are working on, not disclosing how the funds are distributed, not disclosing the lobbyist they are using. Who in the world calls that leadership!
That is the reason that no one wants to contribute. First get some results, show people results for what they have paid for. Then ask for more money. Most people I talk to are confident that IV will achieve nothing given their track record. I tried to convince a colleague to join IV. He bet with me that they will not be able to achieve even this filing I-485 issue. He bet that he will join and pay if they did.
I know IV works like dIVorced wIVes club and saying anything negative is taboo. Anyone saying anything negative is crushed with (p)curses. Only good mushy things are allowed here. So here it is: We will get our GCs by the end of the month. Hallelujah!
But I am writing this for the benefit of IV and please take this as constructively as you can. As a member, I have full right to suggest a change of leadership when I think it can help.
Microsoft has not been able to achieve raise in H1 quota in last 3 years ever since it has become stuck at 65,000. Maybe Bill Gates should fire his entire lobbying staff in DC. Change of leadership. US chamber of commerce could not get CIR done last year. Maybe its time for change of leadership in US chamber of commerce too. Technet and CompeteAmerica, after spending 10 times more than IV could not even get the smallest version of SKIL bill passed even though they tried and assured something will happen in lame duck session. Maybe they should be fired by their employers. Unitedfamiles could not get family based immigration reform. They should be fired too.

I have a H1b with Company A. It expires in Nov 08.
A couple of months ago I joined company B and they transferred my H1B.
Now if I want to go back to Company A, do I need to transfer my H1B again?
Company A has not cancelled my H1 and I am in good terms with them.

I want to thank this european who got his greencard 2 weeks back but still attended the rally. There may be more heroes like this. I was in a group of people when we spoke to him, didnt catch his name as i was encouraging bypassers to honk their cars to support our cause.
He is over 6 foot, in immigration voice t-shirt and blue jeans. He is swedish...Please share his name if anybody knows....
I was the guy from Sweden. I agree with the Russian student.
The reason I was there was because my green card process was a painful and stressful experience for 5 years. And I was still one of the lucky ones! I don't want to put anyone through the same agony, not even my worst enemy. I really feel for the people still stuck in the mess.
I talked to a Polish guy who had been here 9 years fully legally and could not leave. He had not seen his family in 9 years and did not want to risk going back just in case they would not approve his H1B in his home country. They are very strict there it seems, because none of his family members or friends could not even get a tourist nor visit visa to see his graduation. Shocking!
I was glad I showed up at the rally just to hear all the peoples' stories.
Most people who did not show up probably think they are ok after applying the i485. They will join IV rallies, when they realize how wrong they are. People have applied for i485s years ago and still don't have a green card...

I met an Indian who got his green card in year2003. Still he attended to give moral support to IV. Hats off to all those guys who made it to the rally even after getting there GC's. Hopefully those people who are still stuck in the GC mess realize the importance to actively participate in the events organized by IV.
