See if you can post a flyer in the Ann Arbor Indian foods store (Foods of India) near the medical capus. The one in Canton (forgot the name-- the one where they sell bhel) is also a hot spot for folks working around Ann-Arbor/Detroit areas. There is one more Indian store on Packard further up north (in Ann Arbor) Owner is a VERY FRIENDLY guy and very well connected (his connections helped in selling my car, find a subletter...!). He's alway open to flyers and such.
I have spread the word to some I know in MI, hopefully they'll respond. Good luck!

u and ur non-retrogressed friend have my support for an expedited process since u got US advanced degree that make u better suited for this market.. u should be talking STEM.. i am talking about the disparity in available opportunities to come here back in our homelands. Individual examples aside, I trust statistics, you'll find that each year a handful of giant offshoring companies grab more than half the H1 quota.. is it my streotyping imagination that infosys, wipro and satyam don't hold job fairs in Romania and they only make these opportunities available in retrogressed countries?
Hello! Infosys, Wipro and all those companies are NOT the main sponsors of green cards, which is the reason we're in this forum, no? Most of the sponsors are US based small and medium sized companies.
I don't care how many visas they get, the fact is that it doesn't affect me! I neither have a job with them nor I benefited from them grabbing a bulk of visas. End of the day I'm held back because of where I was born.
Look, this may be hard for you to understand, but just because those companies are in my country didn't and doesn't help me one iota. Everyone's on their own here.

its probably a better investment to get a Masters degree in your specific area than an MBA. Of course then you get pigeon holed in your specific area
I agree: the MBA gives you perspective on strategic management and is useful in every field. But if it is not from the very very best schools, I would go for an MS in your own field. An MS from Univ of Arizona is almost as good as an MS from Berkeley when it comes to propelling your career. But an MBA from Berkekely is a different story. Of course, it is very hard to get into those top schools.

I have done e-filing for my AP renewal. I read the instructions to see what documentation I need to mail,but I did not find any documentation specifically for e-filing. Does this mean that there is no need to send any documents? I heard USCIS will take picture during biometrics which is all they need. Can you please share your experiences on this. thanks a lot.

What an absolutely useless discussion! EB2 and EB3 are based on each employer's attestation of job/work requirements.
Obviously, there is little correlation between book knowledge and real world results. Highly educated lawyers and Top B School MBA's can be found stuck in dead end jobs or suboptimal careers while barely educated street smart folks can be found enjoying productive careers.
So, let us stop this nonsensical analysis about something that adds ZERO value towards the core mission and objectives.
Lets use those 'high skilled' grey cells for something that matters. Stay away from the keyboard if you cannot resist the urge to puke over it with your fingers putting forth filth.

Basically H1 is done for LCA which is to make sure that American worker is not is replaced for for the purpose of low wages. Such an attestation is not there in H4. They cannot deny the H4 unless documents are not clear. But H1 they can deny for other reasons. Basically to make H4 not able to work is also a kind of protection for american workers. But it is strange that l2 people can work but H4 cannot work. One cannot fight every law because more provision we ask more delay will be there. IF Skil bill is passed in current form most of people will get gc within 1 or 2 years.

because for people from Aus, their spouses can work.
There is a different visa category for australians called E1, only THOSE ppl's spouses can work. If an australian is on an H1 his wife cannot work on an H4 either.
In that case you also have to argue, why H4's cant work but L2's can? :)

But honestly, what are the chances for this bill to succeed this year (before election)?
100% or 75% or 50% or 25% or 0%
Ron Gotcher predicts that none of the individual bills may pass this year.
And also that EB3 I may not move forward even next year!
I am not sure how many EB3 (I) volunteers are there in IV (who are really focussed). Are they getting nothing? The prediction is that EB3 I may go back to Nov 2001 and stay there for a while (or may be for the rest of next year).

However I am sure you will also agree if nothings changes, the agonizing wait will keep getting longer. Now what needs to change and what the success percentage is at least partially up to us.
By believing that no matter what, EB3 is destined to have a long wait you might be not taking advantage of the possibility that there is some chance (no ones know how much) that things might get better. So lets just put our combined optimistic efforts into this initiative because that is a prerequisite for any change..now or later.

Going back to India is not a bad option at all, but it is really subjective to each individuals about what gain we are going to get out of gaining GC or citizenship from US or Canada like settling down in these countries for good or moving back to country of origin later. In my opinion gaining citizenship from US or Canada before going back to India will be always advantageous, one future perspective these countries have bilateral agreements with other developed nations where you can travel without visa for business trip or for even jobs where you're treated differently as against India citizens(Asian origins doctors who work in UK know this difference). Its a known fact that the pay structure in Gulf countries are different based on the citizenship.

Appreciate your realastic advise, I believe its worth one dies in canada for citizenship. I would say CANADA is a great nation and citizenship is widely respected, on top of everything you are widely allowed to any country.

Perhaps we should try to lobby Cantwell (as she seems sympathetic) to increase the number of EB green cards to clear the backlog, if the CIR comes back.

Because most of the people here have smoked a weed called CIR and are halucinating. This bill is digging our grave, people wake up and stop day dreaming, please start opposing this bill no cir period.
I am not sure why we are still behind this bill and wasting our money and resources,
everyone here needs to realize we don't need to sweeping legislative reform to address our concern, all we need few guidelines to impliment current law in more sensible way,
we simply don't have resources/strenght to address this issue letz not fool ourself anymore and letz put our moeny where mouth is
